Jan C. Ting for U.S. Senate
By Delathought, on behalf of the Members of the DCBA:
The Delaware Conservative Bloggers Association proudly endorses Jan C. Ting for the Republican nomination to be the next United States Senator from Delaware. We are a coalition of Conservative, Republican, Delaware-based bloggers, independent of any official GOP organization; just average folks with a passion for politics and a hope for the future of the Republican party in Delaware.
Jan Ting is a law professor, and is internationally recognized as an expert on immigration policy, which is one of the most important issues facing our nation today. He has experience in federal government, as Assistant Commissioner of the INS under President George H.W. Bush. He also holds a Masters degree in Asian Studies, which will help him understand the coming importance of our relationships with Japan and China. He was asked to testify before the 9/11 Commisssion, due to his reputation as an expert on the national security effects of immigration.
Anyone with experience in beltway politics will tell you that the Senate is a group of specialists. Each Senator has their own area of expertise. Freshman Senators are advised to hone in on a policy area and master it. Jan Ting would enter the Senate ahead of the curve due to his mastery of immigration policy. This makes our decision even easier.
Recently, the blogosphere has been abuzz with controversy regarding the supposed ill treatment of perennial statewide candidate Mike Protack in his current incarnation as a candidate for US Senate. What those outside of the Republican Party don't realize is that those inside the GOP have weighed and measured Mike Protack already at least twice: first, testing the waters in 2002 against Ray Clatworthy, who eventually lost to Joe Biden; and next, in 2004, where he only received about 5,000 votes in losing the nomination for governor to Bill Lee, who eventually lost a close race to Ruth Ann Minner. This is now Protack's third foray into statewide electoral politics. He again has failed to generate any measurable support, this time against Jan C. Ting, who the party recruited to challenge US Sen. Tom Carper.
Now, we at the Delaware Conservative Bloggers Association recognize the uphill battle that faces any GOP nominee against the popular Carper, who polled a 60% favorable in the most recent Survey USA polling, even polling a majority favorable among Republicans. But we believe that Jan Ting will pose the most formidable challenge to Sen. Carper, and is much more qualified for that challenge, so it is our decision to proudly endorse Mr. Ting.

The sound you just heard was Dana having an aneurysm.
No, that post is coming very soon.
I am sorry, you lost me. The "conservative" bloggers proudly endorse the LIBERAL candidate for the Republican primary? AH! This is like communist countries calling themselves "The People's Republic of [whereever]." This "conservative" group is a put-up job by the most liberal members of the Republican party, right?
What experience does Jan Ting have? I must have missed something here. Oh, that's right, NONE! ZERO, ZIP, NADA.
While Mike Protac has also never held elective office, at least he knows how to run a campaign, having been around the track several times.
In the most strained logic one can imagine, campaign experience by Mike Protac is here distorted into a negative. Mike Protac knows how to run a campaign. Jan Ting does not. Whom do you want running against Carper? Someone who has campaigned before? Or someone who has to figure out where the light switch is? AND YET Protack's prior campaigns are twisted in the most bizarre logic into some kind of negative here among these "conservative" bloggers in order to endorse the liberal.
Jan Ting's experience? He worked in the WORST RUN Federal agency in Washington, during which tenure he did absolutely nothing to secure our borders or stop the flood of anonymous stealth invaders. Having an undistinguished record in the worst-run Federal agency is not what I'd call stellar experience.
Alright, you got me: The competition for the worst-run government agency is very intense. Opinions can differ as to which is literally the worst. But the computer system at the INS was so horribly mismanaged that after an enormous investment to build a new one, experts are saying that it will be cheaper to throw away the "new" computer system and start over.
